Condensed from the outside to the middle, from dot to the light. What the artwork wants to show is the inner spiritual landscape, including the introspection, sublimation and compassion of the spiritual soul, making itself and the work become the “light" through time and space.

SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE

我的創作歷程都是關乎於達至內在的清晰。當我花越多時間創作、觀看、並且反覆思量,我就越能夠發現我想要和不想要的是什麼。而我認為想像力是一種最為親密的觀察形式,我也相信想像力可以引領我突破自己的局限。這整個過程就發生在思考與行動之間,我也相信在這之間創作對我來說是一種尋找可能的新途徑的一種方式,並且以這種方式向觀者揭露意義,我的繪畫作品可能具有某種敘事性,但它同時是一個能夠被不斷建構與再建構的故事。

In the studio, my process of painting is all about achieving clarity. The more time I spend working, looking, and considering what I am making, the better chance I have to discover what I want and don’t want. Imagination, which I think of as a more intimate form of observation, plays the biggest role in the creation of my work. I also believe that imagination surfaces out of my limitations. The whole process lies in-between thinking and doing. I also believe that working “in-between (engaging the unknown) is a way for me to seek a possible new avenue for my work that can reveal meaning to the viewers. My paintings may have a narrative quality, but it’s a story that can be constructed and reconstructed.

In the studio, my process of painting is all about achieving clarity. 日月遞嬗,沈思者在森林裡靜靜體會生命輪迴,時間洪 流在瞬息萬變在間擦身而過,功名生死只是浮雲,唯有 純淨的心才能在各個階段安然自若。

For days and months are passing, the contemplator is quietly experiencing the cycle of life in the forest. The torrent of time is passing by in a flash, fame and death are nothing important like clouds and only a pure heart can be at ease in every stage.

我頷首,海本是生的來處。
大海系列作品之一,回歸初心,從孕育萬物的海洋為出發,溫柔的陽光穿透浪花,光與浪,光試圖穿透,浪花飛濺;而深海卻試圖躲藏,深遠而神祕。

The Genesis of the Mother Sea,
The retrospect of initial human beings,
I nodded, the sea was where we came from.
One of the sea series, backing to my original intention, the series start from the ocean that nurtures all life. It focus on the light and waves. Gentle sunshine penetrates the waves, light trying to penetrate and waves splashing; While the deep sea tries to hide, deep and mysterious.
