於同生（1975年）, 臺灣知名書法家，出生於高雄，東方設計大學文創與設計所博士，曾獲中山藝術獎首獎、全國美術展金牌獎等大獎。泅游於書道30餘年，於同生從魏碑的渾厚圓潤氣勢出發，首創符合當代藝術的「英文書藝」。其創作游離在書法範疇邊緣，但更趨近於抽象表現主義，構成介於英文字母及漢字之間的畫面，使人如臨抽象畫般的意境。
書法家為漢字造象，於同生為英文造象。這不只是外在物質性的意象，更重要的是內在精神性的意象，他以回歸起始，立足於傳統書法的基礎上，展現了當代面貌的創作，從符號的角度出發，將英文單字賦予符號的意義，強化符號的圖像意義，並藉由單字的意義和情感的投射，賦予符號另一層的意義與價值。
Yu Tung-Sheng (B.1975-), a well-known calligrapher in Taiwan, was born in Kaohsiung. He received a doctor’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Cultural and Creative Design of Tung Fang Design University. He has won many art awards, like the first prize of Yat-sen Art Award and the gold medal of National Fine Arts Exhibition. Specializing in calligraphy more than 30 years, Yu Tung-Sheng creates the pioneering “English calligraphic art” from vigorous and magnificent Wei calligraphy, which is more conforming to the contemporary art. His works are more than calligraphy, but closer to the abstract expressionism, which forms creative images between English letters and Chinese characters, making people feel like abstract paintings.
The calligraphers create with Chinese characters, and Yu Tung-Sheng also creates with English. They are more image of internal spirituality than just letter symbol. Basing on traditional calligraphy, he shows the contemporary character in his works. Creating from the perspective of symbols, he gives the English words symbolic meaning and leads the symbol another layer of meaning and value through the projection of the emotion and understanding of the words.
